Party at Warrens?
Okay we have been teasing about this for a while now. I actually would like a nice road trip this spring/early summer. I would love to meet Warren and all the pelican family. I like the Texas location too, it seems sort of central and should be warm by then. Is there a Texas (or anywhere near by) exotic dealer who would be interested in hosting such a gathering.
BTW anybody heard from TOG in while? I hope he is well and as twisted as ever (SWEAT GLO?) david 89 turbo cab |

Sounds like a plan. I wonder if Wayne and the guys at Pelican would like to get involved? Have a local Porsche/Audi dealer here who could be considered. Also a couple of locations come to mind for a little auto crossing. Casinos, attractions and good food here in Shreveport/Bossier City La. area, just on the Texas border.

I thought if we could schedule the BBQ in conjunction with this: http://www.pelicanparts.com/ultimate/Forum3/HTML/004787.html , then we'd all have an even better excuse to make it out to West Texas this spring-but Warren has been REAL quiet about all of this.....

Yeah, Warren has been real quite about it. I have a feeling he wouldn't want a gathering like that because nobody would want to leave! Listening to Warren's stories and his technical sessions...it may last forever!

We would all have to wear our Pelican BBS T-Shirts & Caps to the event so we could pick each other out in the crowd. Wayne??????

Chuck-when the date is set for College Station, make sure and post it here on the board for everybody-if we don't end up going to Warren's, we can always take over Aggieland. I'll make sure to wear my Longhorn colors and a Pelican Parts T-shirt (maybe with one of those little stick-on nametags?).

Perhaps Warren is not willing to have group of us at his house. That simply goes to demonstrate the wisdom we already knew he had... :P
I really like the idea of a competition / show / meeting. Having it at a "neutral" location might make it easier on all of us provided there are hotels and resturants nearby. I really hope we can do this. It would be a treat to meet all of you. |

The best I've heard on a date for the " Texas Shoot out" is in June, the Houston region-
www.lsrpca.com is the main region for this so as soon as I hear more I'll keep everyone posted.College Station ( Aggie Land ) has a fair amount of Hotels and restaurants BUT there will be a rather large showing between all the PCA regions,so the sooner you make your plans the better.Texas World Speedway has their own web site, I think you can link to it from www.lsrpca.com .Again, as soon as I get more info I'll let you know.We are also planning other events like a tech-quiz and a rally of some sort. What do you think we would have to do to get Pelican to at least sell some sort of t-shirt or cap,I'd definitely wear one with pride ! |

Here's TWS's site link.. http://www.texasworldspeedway.com/ ..the good thing about TWS, being in College Station is that it's only about an hour (well, if you drive like I do) or so away from Houston and Austin, which have plenty of hotels (AND an actual nightlife-which is not something that can truthfully be said about College Station.) The one bad thing about it is as far as I know, they still haven't paved the parking lot-which can get REALLY muddy-trust me. Don't worry-if anybody gets their P-car stuck, I'll be there to pull you out with my Jeep (the 912 is not going to be ready to drive by then.)
