My rear window heater suddenly stopped working

I was told that the relay is often to blame when the rear window heater doesn't work. So now I'd like to know where I can find that relay?? Does anybody know where it is? Same person told me that it was located in the engine compartment.

My car is a 1984 911 Carrera 3.2

I do not have my Bentley manual here at work, but I assume the relay is with the others, above the fuse box in the luggage compartment. You should buy the Bentley manual ($130 from Amazon); it is an invaluable source of information. I have consulted it many times in the past few months of ownership.

No, the rear window heater relay is in the engine compartment, on the 'console' on the left side of the engine compartment, under a black plastic shield, along with the 3-poition fuse panel, coil, etc.

Yes it's in the engine bay. In my car it's the relay that's closest to the back of the car on that panel. I was trying to track down why my window heater was not working last night. I found the power wire (red/white) wrapped up with a cable tie in the engine bay after it looked like it broke off at some stage in the past. I saw that there is a small hole with a grommet up around the left hinge point and I was wondering if this is where this wire should go through. Does anybody know a easy way to get in there so that I could join this wire back up to the window.
thanks

I hope that relay is not your problem, since it is a little spendy. More likely it is a fuse or something. Mine blew a fuse. Works great now, with the new fuse. Most of the fuses in my car are probably 17 years old.

------Here's what it look like off of the relay board, with the female prong connector (in hand) that attaches to the male counterpart and runs up to the upper left of the fire wall-left hood hinge, and goes into the window seal. I have 3 working ones.....
