Liked? Fellow Porsche owners, unless they're just driving them for looks and image, are always welcome, unless they act like asses. I'm an exception, sometimes I act like an ass but these people put up with me anyway. And Warren's a fountain of information, but seriously - there's a few other people on this forum who've had their hands greasy.

The 84 US model brought in Motronic engine control, pressure-fed tensioners, and an increase in displacement to the SC engine, along with revisions to the intake. In 86 they changed the air conditioning ducts around and went to chromed valve guides. In 87 they changed to the G50 transmission, and in late 89 the car was completely redesigned with something like 85% new parts.

Need more?

well i read this info on the 84' 911 carerra

Engine:
Air-cooled flat-six, SOHC

Capacity:
3164 cc

Power:
231bhp at 5900rpm

Weight:
1210 kg

Maximum:
207 km/h

0 - 100 km/h:
5.3 seconds

Production:
49,629

Is this correct...Its European specs since its 0-100km/h instead of 0-60mph in 5.3 seconds, but how much of a difference do the US cars have? thanks

Rafal

I think the 231 bhp is a little high. 210hp?

Rafal,

Most of your specs are right, but USA models had:

200 hp @ 5900 rpm, 185 lb-ft @ 4800 rpm for '84-'86 models

217 hp @ 5900 rpm, 195 lb-ft @ 4800 rpm for 1987-89 models.

The 0-60 times were 5.5 to 6.5 seconds.
