Wur Test

Need some advice, please. The attached pic is of a 73 1/2 WUR. (xxx-423-xxx)

External pic: The left-side connection is positive (from coil). Ground is provided by direct contact to intake manifold.

Internal pic: The left-side connection is for positive. The right-side connection is connected to the housing of the wur.
.

How would I want to test for continuity on this particular wur? At which points would I get the correct reading?

Many Thanks.

With the ohmmeter connected between the WUR case and the terminal on the outside of the case.

I don't believe the Factory Manual has a resistance value for the early WUR, but may be around 20 ohms or so. It is really irrelevant as to making measurements inside the unit, unless you just want to know out of curiosity as to which side of the resistor is connected to the case, and which to the spade lug connector. If you measure close to zero ohms, you have a short to ground, and maybe you would then need to trace out the internal connections to trouble shoot the problem; or infinite ohms, then you have an open connection.
