any other mac users having trouble posting pics to the gallery?

can't figure out why i can't upload pictures to the gallery. it's the only website giving me trouble like this so far. i'm currently using internet explorer 5.0, but 4.5 doesn't work either. oh yeah-netscape 4.7 doesn't work, either.

those of you posting successfully with macs: what browser are you using?

Adam, you were smart enough to get a 911, but you missed when shopping for a computer. Next time, get a PC.

oh no... don't get me started on the pc thang. i've got 2 of them, and i used to do tech support/programming for a pc-based software company... don't think i'll ever go back as a main platform, but that's another more technical story.

"Windows: If it's broke, don't fix it!"

(just release the NEXT version...)

:-)

all kidding aside, you've got to realize that MICROSOFT made my web browser, and i really don't think they give a rat's a__ if it's buggy or not, since the mac's install base is miniscule compared to pc's. (please, no offense if any of you work for microsoft... i'm just having fun here.) i'm pretty confident my browser is the problem. my wife's pc doesn't seem to have the same issues, but she doesn't like it when i get on her computer to do porsche stuff!

Adam

I use Macs, and run an earlier version of Netscape, and the gallery page was a no-go for me. But I got a copy of Internet Explorer 5, and my pictures went up fine. Now I launch IE5 when I want to go to the gallery, but stay with Netscape (it's familiar, I don't like Microsoft) the rest of the time.

Adam,
Now I know I'm not crazy.... I tried for a while to upload the image of my car. I even tried to mail them to Old Skul, with no success. Finally a member of the board whom I had mailed the pic earlier still had them (how he opened them I dunno) sent them to Old Skul.
So I guess that there's something giving Mac users a hard time... Wish I knew how to remedy that. If you find anything, let us know.
Regards, GeorgeK

I'm pretty handy with PCs, but I definitely know how to fix those problems with your Mac.
I post if you guys want, but it involves a sledge hammer, blow torch, and some other goodies

Okay, I'll get off the Mac Dogpile now.

Adam....I'm with the Mac. I program music on one all the time and using a PC.....I don't think so, too intense for it...hehe.
Anyhow, I'm on a G3 450 and OS 9.06 using IE5 I can upload to the Gallery no problem. Maybe trash IE 5s prefs? But saving your bookmarks etc.
Good Luck,
Anthony

While we're at it, Mark, I thought of a new feature that would help me, anyway. How about listing the users sorted by signup date? I have a hard time figuring out if new people have shown up.

Well, you complained about not having anymore bugs....

PS: Use Mozilla on the Mac, guys...no need to pollute your machine with M$ products.

Heck, I've tried to look at cars on that site a half dozen times, and haven't seen a picture yet! Get the "document done" message at the bottom of the picture, but nothing's ever been presented (except for the initial page) Am running a Pentium PC w/ Netscape 4.5. Don't experience any problems elsewhere, so I've chalked it up to a buggy site (sorry, Kurt)
regards,
jlex.

i'm actually relieved that i'm not the only one having probs... i don't know what's going on.

anthony, i'll try the prefs trashing and start again... thanks.

larry, thanks for ordering a cd!!!!!!! my new album, which will be released this spring, actually has a song on it titled '911'. it was inspired by, you guessed it, our cars. when the mix is done on that tune, i'm going to post here and see if some of you will want to download it. it's hopefully a good tune to drive to!!!

I'd chalk it up to Netscape 4.x being a buggy browser.

mark, don't want to beat a dead horse, but, are you absolutely sure there's not some hidden prob with the site? (i know you've been working your tail off to make it bug-free, and i appreciate it!!!!)

i'm still a little suspect knowing that i still can't log into the site without error messages on my wife's pc running internet explorer 5. i wonder if other pc users have experienced this.

Adam,

I finaly got around to registering and I had no problems at all.

Im running OS9.04 and IE5.

What exactley happens when it doesnt work for you?
Do you get any errors etc...?
Are you on a dial up connection or behind a firewall etc...?

Im sure we'll be able to get it working somehow.

Alex

when i upload, it appears to accept the picture, but instead of seeing my picture on the confirmation page, all i see is a tiny [image] icon representing my picture, instead. all evidence seems to indicate that the picture uploads, but once it's in the gallery, it can't be seen by me from any view. i am not getting any error messages...
