Tires...little ones.

What are the best tires for my 15" Fuchs? I need something Z-rated, high performance, for both track use and street use.

This is for my 1986 911. The usual tire size is 185/70 and 215/60. What's the usual choice? I'd love to get another set of Yokohama AVS Sports, but they're not made in a 15" size.

Recommendations?

AVS Intermediates, 205/60VR-15 in front and 235/60VR-15 in the rear.

Warren, will those fit on my rims despite the size difference?

I'm a tire retard, sorry.

Yes, they will fit on 6 x 15 Fuchs ... I assume yours are bigger, though.

Hey Guys I put 205/50 on my 72S with stock 6inch Fuchs. I love them . I put toyo RA-1 on them only because at my local dealer they were 90 days same as cash.. My car is stock hight, and they dont look that small. The cruising speed sucks at 80mph about 4k rpms, I think. However at 65 you dont have to shift between 4th and 5th to keep over 3k rpms. I cant tell if its any quicker. and I lost some top end, But she corners like a dream stock....

First off I want to thank you for your work on the gallery.

Lets look at tire Dia.
185/70 = 25.19"
215/60 = 25.15" .04" Difference

I am running Yoko AVS Intermediates
195/65 = 24.98"
225/60 = 25.62" .35" Difference

205/60 = 24.68
235/60 = 26.10 1.42" Difference

I'm not saying that it is bad to have a diffference in tire size, I think the cars look cleaner and nicer with a very full fender well. IMHO tires that are not close to 25" tall distrack from the apearance of the car.

RLJ: Why is the 195/60 taller than the 205/60?

I think you mean 195/65=24.98 because 195/60=24.21

I checked these tire Dia. on two different tire size charts, BOTH charts gave the same numbers!
195/65 = 24.98"
205/60 = 24.68"

All I am saying is I THINK 25" tires make the car look better even though my car is very far from stock I still like the "LOOK" of a properly filled fender well, makes the cars look the way they did when new. Lower profile tires that let a lot of the fender well hang open, to me look like a "RICE ROCKET". If you want lower aspect ratio tires go to 16" and use 50/55 that are 25" tall.
