Starting Brake rebuild

I talked to the local Advanced auto today and they do carry parts for my 1975 911s.
What do you guys think should i use parts from them even though they may not be actual Porsche parts but aftermarket parts. Or order my parts from Pelican only, which i guess are oem parts. How about brake lines? do you use generic and make the bends yourself or just order correct oem parts?

Mike

i think for the rebuild parts (calipers) i would use OEM parts. for the hardlines, my friend has used stuff from a local parts shop (and DIY bend them). pay attention to the ends, i seem to remember two types of metric ends. flat or beveled? i missed that part of the install, and my memory is very hazy.

The rebuilt calipers they sell are old oem calipers that have been rebuilt. (assuming you trade in your cores when you buy theirs). Nothing wrong with them. I would buy OEM rubber lines from our host or stainless lines here as well.
Make sure you use a good flare nut wrench for the hard lines if they haven't been off for a while. Maybe squirt in a good dose of PB Blaster as well.
