Mine chirps occasionaly too. Especially after a long drive and it has time to heat up completely. If yours is making a constant noise might be better to replace the motor. In a warmer climate you might just unplug it and let the engine fan pass enough heat to the cabin. I have thought about drilling a small hole in the bearing end of motor and shooting a little oil in there. Good luck.

- Remove air hoses from motor
- Remove motor of engine compartment (1 Clamp plus electrical connector)
- Unscrew fan blade ring (13 mm nut, I think)
- Separate motor from sheet metal (3 small screws)
- Beware of any washers etc. to put back in same order.
- Unscrew motor front end from housing (2 screws)
- Pull rotor out of housing- careful, not to loose any washers
There might be a fixation ring on the axle which has to be removed first (I don't remember exaxtly)
- Clean everything with brake cleaner and compressed air (! lots of metal flakes if your bearings are nearly shot!)
- lube bearing at bottom of housing and at motor front end (graphite?)
- Assemble in reverse order

Its a bit tricky because of the strong magnet, but not a tough job.

Good luck,

jens

I agree. The motor dies when that front bushing dies. clean and grease that front bushing as well as possible while you have it disassembled.

Further, the motor will go on in three different positions. I'd install it in a position other than the one it was in, thinking this will hslp preserve the bushing.
