Mechanic in LI, NY area?

Hey I don't know where to post this as there is no regional forums, but here it goes..

I really need an independent mechanic who really knows what they're doing on early 911's. I'd prefer someone who can come to my home and work in my garage, but this is not the deciding factor.

Please PM me if interested.

hey rocco,
have you heard of a shop called Rudtner racing, or something like that? seems to be a respected long island shop.
or you could go to unique and get your whip pimped out

I've been a happy customer of Bill's for years.

I don't think he's making house calls.

Give him a ring. See link in my sig.

Where are they located exactly?? Sorry, but the website doesn't appear to have a location.

Bump, anyone else?? I don't need anything major done:

1) The starter needs to be replaced. I'm also not 100% sure where to order a new one. I do know a shop who can rebuild mine.
2) The throttle cable needs some adjusting. I'm not sure how to explain this.
3) Shifter needs adjusting. Shifts are very sloppy and do not go into each gear as it should. An aftermarket short shift kit was installed by the PO and I suspect it was not done properly.

thanks guys!!

Where on Long Island are you located. Bill's shop in on the south shore in Freeport. His work is top notch, and the mechanic I use. I do not know any good mechanic who would come to your house. Join Metro PCA and you would be in touch with all of the top shops on long island, including Bill's. He is very involved in the club's DE days.

Rudtner's is a class act. He services trick P cars from out of state and will transport etc so the deciding factor isn't if he'll do it.. i think

why don't you buy a tool box?

I work on my own car, most of the time, but use Bill to assist me on some projects. He is very tolerant of people asking him questions. I agree with the prior post get some tools and a good Manual for you car and see if you can fix some of your problems. replacing some of the plastic shift rod guides and adjusting the coupling isn't hard. If it doesn't work then you can go to Bill.

But I will say again join Metro PCA and come out have some fun. I just started Auto crossing this year and my first words were "Why did I wait so long"

Oh, don't worry,

once Bill meets Rocco I'll lay 3 to 1 odds that he'll make it to the track

The man's an enabler!!! I need another fix!

Rocco,

WELCOME to the forum. Once you set foot in Bill's place you will be on the slippery slope. . .

In a future post I imagine something like this:

The TURBOCHARGER needs to be replaced. I'm also not 100% sure where to order a new one. I do know a shop who can rebuild mine.
2) The BOOST PRESSURE cable needs some adjusting. I'm not sure how to explain this.
3) SEQUENTIAL RACE SHIFTER needs adjusting. Shifts are very sloppy and do not go into each gear as it should.

Seriously, you'll be in good hands with Rudtner, he was my first-ever instructor in Metro NY PCA DE-- I'll never forget him telling me how to pass guys . . . "get the boxter. . .now get the Turbo. . . . Good!"

Just dropped my car off with Bill yesterday. It's the black 3.4 liter carrera looking sad and beat up. Some dip**** in an escalade decided to rearrange my fender on the FDR over the weekend.

All that aside, you really will be in good hands.
