1976 Porsche 911S Vacuum Advance.

I Just Bought My 1976 Porsche 911S About 2 Months Ago. The Engine Had Been Rebiult But It Did Not Run. I Had to Rebuild The Carebutors ( Weber 40 IDA ). I Got The Engine Running But I don't Know Were To Hook Up The Vacuum Advance Hose. I Have Not Seen Anywhere To Hook Up The Hose. Any Help Would Be Great. Thanks.

I think the advance is in the dizzy the vac hose may actually be a retard.

Many owners disconnect the retard ....

Are you running? if so
If you put a timing light on it and rev the engine ...do you get advance ...if so the vac is a retard. .= plug it and you will have much better performance

in stock trim my 75 had the vac for the retard comming from a fitting right below the throttle butterfly area.

Does it make any difference if the port to the vac retard on the diz is plugged or not once the vac line to it is disconnected and plugged? I'm thinking no.

Did you get your car to stop smoking from the oil tank and exhaust?

the vac retard is a smog brain child.

carbs are great but need proper advance for performance.

imo either recurve the stock dizzy or buy a new 2.7 RS dizzy for $325 if you have the low compression pistons
