Best book(s) to buy on CIS?.....

Hi-

anybody got an opinion on the best book or books to pick up to thoroughly understand the Bosch CIS for a '77 930? have some quirks going on, and want to get a better understanding of my system.....

TIA! - which I assume means "thanks in advance"

I bought a used copy of "Solving Bosch Continuous Injection System Problems" and it with the Bentley Manual gave me enough info to understand and tinker with the system. It is a theory based book though so it you are looking for something with part numbers and procedures you will want to punt on this one.

Here, http://www.boschtechinfo.com/index.cfm?event=product.menu.search&format=Service%20Guide -I am not sure it comes with the supliment, It should. It is the most complete manual you will find.

Ben Watson"s "how to tune and modify cis" is a good one, give a lot of info on how to isolate probs.

Hello TIm,

If you are just starting out, my advice is to read the Bosch descriptions in the blue book or "Gasoline Engine Management". These do not have the errors in Bentleys or Haynes. Probst's book "Bosch Fuel Injection" has the most useful, practical advice on troubleshooting.

Hi- and thanks for the info.....

I will look up the other books mentioned, but in the meantime, I downloaded - FOR FREE- Bosch's K-Jetronic Service Guide at the following website:

http://www.onlinefreeebooks.net/pdf-download/KE+Jetronic/

I think Bosch wants $50 for this manual off of their website..... I haven't explored this site yet, nor have I had the time to read a 40 page service guide to CIS yet- this site has a ton of Porsche stuff- owner's manuals, wiring diagrams, etc.....

check it out, and pass it on..... type in what you want in the google box on that page....

More info-

just searched for "Bosch Fuel Injection by Probst" on the above freeonlinebooks site, and the manual by Charles O. Probst does come up, but it is for L-Jetronic (electronic) fuel injection on a BMW...... so, if you have Beamer friends, send this on to them....

So far, haven't found his "Bosch Fuel Injection and Engine Management" for huge savings -or free- off the list price of $29.95..... would like to find it now instead of waiting 4-12 business days as quoted by many internet booksellers.....

oh well-
