Question the wax post-clay bar-windshields- have you done it?

Has any one ever used a clay bar on their windshield, I'm a glass freak and like it clear but would like to hear some feed back before I try it. Thanks

It works...use lots of lube like diluted car wash.
It's easier to use Bon Ami (yellow can) and I think it works better. If you are really hardcore then get a felt wheel for the rotary buffer and some jeweler's rouge to buff out scratches. It becomes easier and better to just put a new windshield in once you reach the lunecy of polishing the windshield.

It won't polish, but it does take off some stuff that can really stick to the glass and it does make the glass cleaner.

No big worries about doing it. I clay the windows of my cars all the time. All it really does is remove the surface film of road debri that accumulates over time, especially the rear window. Follow up with some glass cleaner.

I have also done it and think it is great. Wash it well first and make sure it is well lubed.

Yes but it didn't take off everything.
I go over my windshield with my orbital buffer after waxing the car. It seems to polish it nicely with just the residue on the pad.

I also use Rain-X. I don't drive the 911 in the rain so I use it so the bugs wach off easier.

I've done it on numerous cars. On my SC I found it really helped diminish the effects of the pits. Takes the dirt out of them so they're not so noticeable when driving into the direct sun. Also makes the glass smoother so the rain water doesn't stick to it.

I recommend the eastwood glass polishing kit and the diamondite kit, i used both together and the glass is like new. i also recommend rain-x.

I've also used a scraper (razor blade on a handle) on the windshield. Just make sure to use a clean blade with no gouges. The one thing I noticed after cleaning the windshield was that while it was largely cleaner, the minute chips from sand and whatnot were more visible as the dirt that was filling them in was no longer there.
