Brake Rotor Rust

purchased a 1979 turbo roller the brake rotors that have surface rust. The car has been sitting for a few years. The rotors are cross drill. Is it ok to leave the rust or do I have to pull the rotors and have them turned down.

If there is not pitting then you can just clean them and go. Obviously, you should make sure the brake system works properly before driving the car. Flush the fluid and replace with new, check the brake lines, pads, and all other parts.
