I won't complain! I like mine:http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1246027550.jpg

Vin-barrett 06-26-2009 06:48 AM

oooh that's hot...
with or without the decal that car has the look... I think i'd do it in white or silver

barney911rs 06-26-2009 06:48 AM

What do YOU want? I wanted to add the Porsche script on the rockers of my race car to tie in the contrasting color from the front and rear bumpers, but never got it done. Personally, on your car the Porsche script would be much better then the Carrera script.

ChkbookMechanic 06-26-2009 07:13 AM

I think Porsche in silver would look good.

kidrock 06-26-2009 09:10 AM

It doesnt matter, your car already looks great. It will look just as good, with or without. So, go ahead and do what YOU want to do. It's a win-win proposition.

donporfi 06-26-2009 09:39 AM

NO
Your car looks great as it is. No need to tell other people that it is a Porsche.

rfn026 06-26-2009 09:41 AM

No

berettafan 06-26-2009 09:59 AM

agree there is no need to tell others what it is. in fact i don't care if anyone knows what it is.

BUT the trim mounting holes are just kinda out there and looking at me like 'cover us up!' and i surely don't want to weld, sand, paint, etc. (not sure i could match the color anyways).

sailchef 06-26-2009 09:59 AM

Stripes would look good on the track, but for "in town" drivin', it looks good the way it is.

berettafan 06-26-2009 10:00 AM

actually i'm not sure the script would cover the holes....hmmm

nesslar 06-26-2009 10:14 AM

Either way....though silver would get my vote. I don't see any rocker "panels", however..... ;)

Rich Lambert 06-26-2009 10:17 AM

Normally I'm a fan of Porsche rocker script/stripes, but your car looks really good just the way it is. I know...it's hard stop doing stuff to your car.

You could always but a set, tape 'em on there, and see. I'm sure Mr. Tillton would love to sell you some.

joetiii 06-26-2009 10:29 AM

I thought you got those Cookie Cutters last fall to use on the cone course. Whats up with the Fuchs?

donporfi 06-26-2009 10:42 AM

For the trim mounting holes you can use small round stickers. From the distance you cannot see them.

berettafan 06-26-2009 10:54 AM

believe it or not i STILL have to pick up the cookies. what a slack ass i am!!!

gonna paint 'em black and put falken azenis 205/50's on them.

am going to the Evolution auto-x school tomorrow near Philly to 'get my learn on'. i am one sucky autocrosser and need some help.

berettafan 06-26-2009 10:56 AM

my car she is a'changing fast! going from all trimmed up street height to very low w/ sticker trim and now looking into recaro pole positions. the vintage looking stuff is cool to look at but i need to be more comfy and stuck to the seat when driving.

signature65 06-26-2009 07:05 PM

YES......its the classic 60's Porsche racing look. Go for it!!!http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1246071944.jpg

efhughes3 06-26-2009 07:23 PM

No, not in that stock form which looks great as is.

Scott Clarke 06-26-2009 08:52 PM

The stripes will cover the trim holes. That was part of the objective in my choice shown above.

Doug&Julie 06-27-2009 07:30 AM

Since you have a stripe on the front and rear bumpers, I'd do the script in a matching (silver?) color. For sure don't do white or black...white will be too strong and black will disappear.

Nice car. :)

GaryR 06-27-2009 07:39 AM

My vote is yes, in silver. Not like you can't remove them!

signature65 06-27-2009 09:57 AM

Cant someone photoshop silver for him.......??

I do have to say im a fan of the rocker Porsche, but your car is beautiful.

DanielDudley 06-27-2009 10:03 AM

Doesn't matter.

Go get the wheels.

uh huh... the Evo school is good. Real Good. Lots of seat time and instruction. When I went last month, all the instructors said that an old 911 was a true drivers car with a lot of variables to make it dance around a course. Throttle, brakes, light front, engine in the rear, all give you options to maneveur around well with just a delicate touch that sets a fine balance between control and out of control.

I ran at EVO on my Falken Azenis that were 9/10s spent. Nice inexpensive tire with good grip, but after 6 consecutive runs there was no grip left. I have since mounted some Toyo R1Rs and even though they are fresh, they do seem to have more grip than the Falkens did. perhaps its the 140 tread wear vs. the 200 for Falken.
