AC Wiring Help / Advice

AC evaporator blower stopped working on my 82 SC with pure stock AC stsem. No blown fuses but I found one that showed evidence of high current and heat. This turned out to be part of the problem - fuse holder spring lost it's temper due to heat and some evidence of melted wire insulation and previous repairs. One wire is red with white stripe and one red with green stripe. Checked the diagrams and one is the evap blower and the other the front condenser motor. Ammeter shows evap motor drawing 11 amps and condenser motor drawing about 4. I think the fuse is designed to be 20 amp but it has a 25 cast into the back of it. So I need to fix the damaged fuse holder and wire but what to do past that.? Interestingly the wire feeding that fuse (from the top) looks fine.

ANY ADVICE?

So, the evap blower does work when supplied with voltage from another source?
Fix the fuse holder then check the amperage and voltage to the motors while being operated from the switch in the car.
Perhaps you are seeing a low voltage at the motors due to a bad switch.
It may have been just a loose terminal that created your problem but it sounds like you are on the right track to get it solved.
I think there was another thread that discussed what amperage the fans operated at full load.

In my 73 the system was rewired to go straight to the battery with a fuse breaker instead of a fuse. Going through the fuse box is looking for trouble
