Does you BATT charge light stay illuminated while the engine is running? If yes, then it's a good chance that your diode has burnt out:

Will it stop while it's still cold? If so, blame the plugs for dieseling.

Hi to everyone, sent the car back to the mechanic when the engine did not want to turn off. The batttery terminal was removed to turn of the engine.

The dashboard lights were not on and looked normal.

The engine will not die down at all and there was no noticable change in the idling or roughnest in how the engine was idling.

Will ask mechanic to look at the ignition switch.

thanks to all, rommy
