3 piece early BBS 15" tire change questions

I have decided to keep these big early Mag BBS 3 piece wheels. I think I found some meats to replace the rears. Do you have to take them apart to change tires? and if so, why?
Also, I am going to repaint the centers eventually so I will have to take them apart. Is that a can of worms, or straight forward as it looks?
Anyone with knowledge of these wheels would be greatly appreciated. I had planned on selling them, but got no interest, and I really am liking them on the car now. Thx, Derek

Derek Hi, I was in the same shoes before. I bought my 15" wheels as halves. Also got the bolts. Put the silicone in between the halves and tighten it with the screws.

Also will be painting centers black soon. NO you don't have to take them apart.

You have to let the air out of a tire so it won't split the halves and unbolt the centers for painting.

Thanks for the pic i was actually thinking of putting the inner half out. I'm using the spacer now and have some rubbing.
