How do you adjust throttle cable or linkage????

Well I am new to 911 ownership, I took my car to the shop just to have the shifter checked to see if it needed bushings or just an adjustment. While the car was being test driven the mechanic told me I was only getting about 2/3 throttle( the car runs pretty damn good for not gettin full throttle) my quetion is how do you adjust the throttle cable or linkage..Thanx in advance.

Well, if you take a look at the following diagram from the parts catalog, you will hopefully notice four bushings numbered #15 and #28 that can wear out and cause excessive play/sloppiness, and adjustable ball socket cups that also wear at locations #6, #11, and #20:

I just adjusted this on mine after realizing that the 1/2 inch of play in the pedal prior to engaging the throttle was probably not normal. If you pop off the ball/cup linkage at the throttle itself, this short rod has threads at either end with small locknuts. Adjust these until the cup can go onto the ball of the throttle without pulling or pushing the rod at all. (IE when the rod is at rest, so is the throttle. Now have someone floor the pedal and check to see if the throttle is open all the way. Worked for me and made one hell of a difference in drivability.

Best of Luck.
Nick.
