Heh. Don't confuse me with those complicated degree thingies.

One inch height difference on a car with a 100" wheelbase = 1%. Of course, our cars have less than a 100" wheelbase and the rockers don't extend that far anyway so you need to figure out 1% between the actual measuring points. I think.

Maybe someone who passed trig can calculate how many degrees that would be.

To paraphrase someone much wiser than me: "I shall not today attempt further to define the proper stance . . . [b]ut I know it when I see it." (With all due apologies to Justice Potter Stewart.)

Skippy used to be light ivory, right?

I re-indexed my spring plate last night, so now the one that didn't have any more adjustment now matches the other that did and will play with adjusting today (after work ..)
It is difficult to find common reliable reference points. Rockers have a shape, my fenders are steel 930s, etc

would be interested to see a level on top of the sill. Held level and measure the gap... wouldn't, if setting by measurement ... that be the best place ?

To keep it on topic, you know that car had a pretty good stance at one time, too...

Again, I'm not a big fan of "slammed"...

I think that blue '87 might well be about 1 degree. 1 degree projected out 89" (911 wheelbase) equals subtended rise of about 1.5", so add that to your rear fender height measurement.

Seems like a lot. Somebody check my trig here ?

Rich, Obviously I agree with many others on the board, that your ride is a beauty. Could you tell us all a bit more about the details of it's current stance? Did you lower it to a specific height. Tire choice a factor? I've got a 73 and I'd love to have her sit like that.

Thanks,
Dave

Dave, I took it to Tru-Line in Bellevue, WA and told them how I drive the car and what sort of set-up I'd like (street/track alignment & corner balance) and that's how it came out. It's exactly the look I was after and it handles pretty good for a 43 year old car. There's no substitute for a really knowlegable alignment shop. I replaced the 205's that came with the car with 195's because I was getting occasional tire rub on the rears...no big deal.

Sorry for the late reply.....

I wish I could go out in the garage and measure it's height....but it's not out there

If you did a search you could find it.... I'm sure it's in an old post.... Dave at TRE set it up. It had Bilsteins ....I think the rear torsion bars were 26mm...pretty sure of it. I remember Dave saying you don't want it too dam stiff....the front was stock.
The fuchs were 7's and 9's......

Edit: Here's the info : My 1980 911 Sc ... ouch

Bob
