This seems like the appropriate thread for my 1st post. I picked this car up about 6 months ago and have been fixing and improving it faster than I planned. Latest: Vintage Classics 'R' seats going in tonight. They feel SO much better than the GTS classic seats I had. Pic was taken by my friend, chazboyd.com

Hey All,

I know this is an old, long thread, but I have a dumb question... Is the height suppose to be a tad different on each side? So, just a tad higher on the driver's side so with the driver in the seat both sides are the same height? I'm new to the 911 and have an 86 Cab and my car's height differs by about 1/4" higher on the driver's side. I'm hoping that was thought out and not just "wrong".

Thanks,

Franny

Thanks! It started as a black 87 Carrera with a motor that needed rebuilding. Motor was rebuilt, body stripped, sunroof removed, metal rear rsr fenders, glass fronts, longhood etc. Original fuchs were made into 17x8/9, RSR coilovers, full poly bushing set, RSR door cards and carpet, wevo camber king, wevo engine mounts, unknown headers, ER front and rear adjustable sway bars, ER spring plates, ER bump steer kit with turbo tie rods, Hargett pro G50 shifter, and a bunch of other stuff i cant remember right now.

Great looking car and looks like a fun build. Can you give some more details on the seats Vintage Racing seats?

It is correct that the car be higher on the driver's side - compensates for the driver's weight as you surmise.

Thanks, its been a ton of fun so far! I picked up the Vintage seats because I like to go on long drives, autox, track days and what I had was just ok, not great. I read a ton of great reviews about the Vintage seats and after speaking to Michael@ Vintage I was sold. The build quality is excellent and the seat mold that was used is perfect. I remember reading somewhere that they were exact copies of authentic R seats. I ordered a set of R seats with basketweave centers and perforated sides. Unfortunately they are a lot more expensive than the GTS seats, I ended up paying around 3400 shipped (including new recaro seat rails). Dont get me wrong, the GTS seats are nice but the Vintage seats are on completely different level.

(headrests not pictured but were included)

A lot of pretty VT cars are coming out with the warm weather. Ping me if you're ever doing an App Gap run- I'm ~10 miles on the other side, would love to check out your car/s.

Car looks wicked...how does it feel after that suspension rebuild?
I think I'm going to keep my bumper blocks too, Hezath, after looking at that car!
