Brightwork Polishing.

Added the brightwork to the car. It has lots of little scratches in it.

Question; How do I polish or get the scratches polished out?

Can't wait to get the trim for front and rear window!
Thanks.

You can try sequentially finer steel wool or a polishing setup on a Dremel.

Luke, what ever you do in regard to polishing tou will have to stay on top of it a bit as it will continue to oxididze.

If you can get it to polish up nicely almost shiny.. then tape off the car go-over it with either prep-sol or thinner which will dull it down some and clean away the compound.. then clear coat with a quality product in a rattle can. I've done this before and was pleased with the result. Try it out on a spare piece of trim to get a good feel for what you want.

I've had some pretty good results using Mother's Aluminum and Mag wheel polish. Some trim bits are polished aluminum (sunroof deflector and rails). It will take out "minor" scratches and dull spots (patina) on chrome as well. Any paint overspray or gluey crap must be stripped. DUH. Be careful with clear spray. It can yellow in the sun and peel over time. No fun to get off later. It depends on how use use and store your car. I have blacked out (powder coated) window trim on my 75 and color matched headlight rims.
Your car looks great!
