Curb rash in Fuchs - fixing
What's the best way to "buff" out a little bit of rash on Fuchs? The edge isn't scrubed, more of a small nick in the face of the lip.
Tried sanding. Made it better, but think it's deeper than what's possible with 500 grit. Todd |
Hey, don't feel bad, I was in England last week testing the new Aston Martin DBS Volante, riding with a writer from Car and Driver at the time, and he four or five times whacked the curb on the narrow Cotswald roads with the left-side wheels--once so hard the whole car bounced--and thoroughly trashed the wheels. $1,000 apiece.
In his favor, I have to admit it was a big car on small roads. |
The problem with the factory Fuch finish is, is that the face of the lip is anodized. So as you sand the nick flat you also remove the anodizing - I would just leave it until you decide to refinish the entire wheel.

I have used Mother Mag wheel polish on polished mags to great effect.
