Angry Turn signal woes!!

Having problems with the front turn signals on my 87 Carrera. Signals work front and back with headlights off. But, with headlights on, the front signals will not work, the back do. Thought it was a ground issue but that checked out. Thought it was a bulb issue, but it wasn't. So now I'm ordering a relay from host, thinking that could be the problem. It acts like when headlights are on they are pulling amps away from turn signals. Anyone else run into this problem?

Not sure if this applies to 80's cars, but I do know that a Pellican traced a similar problem on their car (mid 70's) to a faulty hazard flasher. When lights were on, the turn signal didn't work. I have the same problem with my car ('75) but have yet to start playing with the hazard switch. Don't drive the car at night, so for now the problem will remain.

Good luck.
