From a 77 911S to a Turbo Body - whats the cost?
I am thinking about doing a Turbo Body on my S. What is the cost of a good steel kit and what have experienced regarding cost of having a shop install and color match?
Would I be better off to buy a 1981 SC with a turbo body (glass) already done? The 3.0 seems to have all the updates and it only has 64K miles. This fella wants $16K including two sets of wheels 15's and 17's, neither original... |

It is always cheaper to buy one already done. But - is it done the way YOU want it? I can't tell you what a shop will charge to do the work. I can say that I prefer metal to 'glass for a lot of reasons. 930 fenders are a bolt on. The cost of paint can run anywhere from hundreds to thousands depending on the extent of the work and the quality of the job. You now get your choice of front and rear bumpers - this can drastically change the appearance of the car. If you buy one finished be sure to check the welds/bonds thoroughly or you'll be doing the conversion over.
