Ultimate 2.0L Upgrade ?

I am contemplating upgrading my engine. I would like to keep the current case rather than go out and buy another engine. I will be using the car on the street. Primarily the back country roads of the Brandywine River Valley in DE and PA. The car has Webers and I want to keep them. What are the forums opinions? Who out there has tackled this? What are the pitfalls? As usual, thanks in advance.

Christian,

Well, you could bore out the crankcase for 2.2 "S" pistons and cylinders, put in a set of GE-60 or GE-80 cams, and Titanium valves for a bit more top end ... and re-gear 3rd, 4th, and 5th gears a bit closer together, and put in a ZF limited slip ... for a bit more excitement up 'on the cams' where 'S' engines love to live and play! Or, maybe, change all of the gears to the 901/77 'Airport Gears' specs!
