displacement question
Hallo everybody,
I have recently bought the Workshop Manual for my 911/69 directly at the Porsche shop in Zuffenhausen-Stuttgart (a complete delight for me) and until now (back in Buenos Aires) I thought that I have a 911-S with 2.0 lts MFI engine, (Engine # 6391416). But in the supplements to the section E, page "SE 33" there is a picture with the legend "Survey of Engine Types" showing the information in row and column format. I do not understand wether to look at, because in the column YEAR the only 1969 relates to the : "Type.Off.Int." (I do not know what does it mean) 911/S-C "Type " 70 "Displacement" 2.2 lts. For a Displacement of 2.0 lts. the closest figures are: "Type Off. Int." 911 S "Type" 69 "YEAR" 1968. Wich one is mine ? 1968 or 1969 ? 2.0 lts or 2.2 lts ? Thanks in advance for any answer. Let's decode your engine number
6 = Engine designation (6 cyl unit) 3 = Official engine type 3=S-E (others are: 1=T-E, 2=E-E, 4=TV-E 5=SC-F) 9 = Model year (69) 1416 = Sequential number HTH Marc-Andre Morin Quebec, Canada 70 914-6 conversion 2.2 [This message has been edited by si2t3m (edited 02-07-2001).] |
