Where to buy pop out quarter window seals?

I couldn't find any for sale on our host's pages. Did I somehow miss them? If not, anyone know where to find them?

Thanks-
Craig Backer

Craig ,I think this is what you're after.

See Pelican section re: seals and weatherstripping.

Just installed a pair on my '73 not a lot of fun !

This is the seal that goes around the glass for the rear quarter window on early cars.

I could do this as a new post, but...

What's the trick to installing these? I had a body shop put a set on my '68 with some other body work. They ended up giving me adjustment--they had all kinds of problems, put a small tear in one and neither fit quite right.

I'm thinking it can't be that bad if you know how...

The best way to install these is to loosely stretch around the window, fill the tub with hottest water and let them soak for about an hour. They'll go like butter with a little prodding from a straightslot screwdriver. I took a medium sized old one to the grinder and rounded the corners, made it less sharp.

good luck!

I found that I had to SLIDE the rubber seal into the vertical leading edge of the quarter window first, then work the seal into the rest of the window. I drove myself nuts trying and retrying to work it into that leading edge. It just never really went into the groove enough to hold. I finally used silicone spray lube on the seal and started it at the top and slid it into the groove. It only took a few seconds after mucho futility. The seal works into the rest of the window very easily.

Do the new seals "seal" well? I did some on an old BMW and they were very stiff.

Halfway tru the first window I did a search on this forum and read about using WD 40.
That helped a lot but still a PITA !Sore thumbs and much poking with small screwdriver .
I think they will seal well, but I think over time either the latch's stretch or the mounting base is compressed so I needed to install a spacer between the latch and interior mounting surface to move window into opening further for a tight fit.
Hope this helps,
Manfred

does anyone have a pic of the seal/rubber that goes on the body of the car with opening rear quarter windows? I took mine out many years ago and not sure what goes on the body. I replaced the rubber on the quarter window but have no idea about the other piece. TIA.

Is it just a "U" channel that goes around and you cut to length?
