'89 C4: No Blower in Heat Mode

The ventilation system works correctly in all modes, except there is no air movement by a blower when the temperature control knob is moved from the coldest position or when the windshield defrost button is depressed. When the temp control is in a warmer position, the blower shuts down, but there is clearly warm air available at the vent outputs - it's just not getting forced out by a blower. Otherwise, everything works just right. I've read, I think, most of the archived stuff on heaters, but most seems to apply to the manual type system. Any leads or ideas?? Thanks. Steve

Have you checked the fuse for the engine mounted blower. The fuse is located in the box on the left side of the engine compartment aft of teh coils. If the rear blower is not running you will get no warm air. If it is not the fuse can you hear the rear blower running when the thermostat is set above ambient air temperature?

The rear blower is prone to running its bearings and siezing.

Problem solved! Thanks very much. I didn't even know that there were fuses in the engine compartment until today - I pulled out the bad one, and there was a good one right there in the cover. I hope all my future car problems are as easily fixed.
