Need a/c temp switch for '89 p

Can anyone direct me to a source for an a/c temp/thermo switch for a 1989 911?? Seems as though I have seen postings on this subject, perhaps to the effect that this part is no longer available from Porsche, but might be from other independent sources. Something not requiring a lot of cosmetic hacking to install would be preferred. I just installed a Rennaire system (barrier hoses, Sanden, upgraded evap. core, rec/drier, charged with 134)....all appears to be in order until the bad thermostat fails to detect that things are icing up, then temp goes up until the evap core thaws out and then it repeats the procedure. I have liberally sprayed the capillary tube with Component Cooler (down to -50 degrees C), and can detect no movement whatsover on the bellows at the switch. Thanks for your help, Marc Morrison

Pelican has it

The points in mine had burned up so I replaced it last week.
The replacement is a tiny bit wider. I cut most of the bottom section out of the housing to fit it in and have the shaft line up with the hole.
Makes it alot easier reinstalling the AC controls in the little plastic box and you can't see the bottom area cut out when it's back in the console.

The rest is easy if you remove the grommet in the bulkhead the capillary tube goes through while installing it. Then push the grommet back in.

The Griffiths unit is a bit smaller, still larger than the OEM but smaller than the current replacement available from *ahem* most suppliers. The Griffiths will fit without any cutting - tight but it will fit.
