Wax on top of Carrera script???
 

I just re-installed my second set of Carrera script/decals (a BIG thanks to Mike Z for supplying the second set) and I am curious if you can wax over the top of the decal? Is this a no, no...a pain or simply something you should not do?

By the way, this time I installed the script/decal dry rather than using soapy water and the result came out much better. A few tiny bubbles here and there, but nothing compared the the amount of bubbles I ended up with when using the soapy water spray....for what its worth.

You can wax over a decal.

I'm not sure why you had any problems applying decals with a tiny bit of soap (it is a very small amount) and water. That is the ONLY way I've ever had any luck. Actually, it takes luck to put decals on dry.

I have never had a problem waxing my script... been on car for 3-4 years now with no problems...

I think Ed meant that once you place the decal on dry you can't move it around or remove it without "stretching" it. Whereas, using a little soap and water you have more forgiveness installing the decals.

Pop the bubbles with a pin. Don't push into the paint in case you ever decide to remove the script.

I used to apply decals to vehicles professionally. We always did them dry. Ya just gotta do it the right way. Once its on, though, it's not coming off very well.

Thank you all....I am not a pro and therefore not saying either way which way is the proper method of installing, but for me I did this 2 times. Once with a very light soapy water mixture and once dry and by far the dry method worked better as far as bubbles were concerned. You simply have to take great caution in making sure it is on straight and located where you want it because it certainly is not going to move around. Once down, its down.
