911 Carrera fuel capacity ?
Does anyone know what the fuel capacity is on a 1984 Carrera ? and what is reserve,I give up searching.....

My sources give the 3.2 Carrera fuel capacity as 22.5 US gal (85 ltr), including aprox. 2.11 US gal (8 ltr) reserve.
This is per the 1985 sales brochure, the 1987 owners manual, and magazine articles (Car and Driver, Road & Track). |

I was trying to figure my fuel mileage from last weeks 500 mile road-trip.Average 23 MPG lots of stop and go plus high-speed runs..........

To do this accurately, fill'er up, set the tip odometer to zero, and start driving. Once you get close to empty, fill'er up again and do the math.....

That's exactly what I do. On a trip last weekend, I got about 27-28 US MPG travelling 75-80 mph and about four hours of that with the driver's window open.

![]() If my light goes on, I fill, and typically put about 19 gallons in at that point. On the way back from running Deals Gap with my '84 Cab, about 75-80mph, top down, I got about 26-27mpg on the highway over about 1,000 miles. Around town, I get about 20-22 depending on how I'm driving.
