16 inch fuchs part number questions

I have an 87 Carrera on the front wheels are 7x16 and part number 911 361 020 44 and the rears are 8x16 with numbers 951 362 117 ET 23.3

First question are these original to my car?

I also have a set of 2, 16x7 that are part number 911 361 115 ET 23.3 what years and models are these original for?

Does anyone have a fuchs part number chart?

Thank you

I don't believe they are original, though I could be mistaken. As I understand, those sizes were not a factory option for that year.

Neither set is original to the car.
911 361 020 44 7x16ET23.3, black center, polished lip was used through '84, It is virtually identical to what would have been an optional rear wheel set on your '87

951 362 117 xx is an 8x16 ET23.3 wheel from and '85 or '86 944. It is sometimes used on the front of a 911 for racing purposes but has the wrong o/s for the back of an SC/Carrera rear flare. If it is used in the back of such a car it needs spacers.

911 361 115 xx no listing

911 362 115 00 ET23.3, black center, polished lip was an optional wheel on various Carreras from '85-89

The 8x16 951 wheels are on the back of my Carrera right now and look and fit great. The tires are 225x 50. There is enough room that they look like they could take a small spacer. I found a chart showing the 7x16 which also have the 23.3 mm offset like the 8x16, 951s were stock and will have even more distance between the fender and tire.

The little technical specifications book shows an 87 could have 6 and 7 x 16 or 7 and 8 x16

if you know so much why ask any questions?

I can guarantee you that 8x16ET23.3 needs a spacer on your car(assuming it is an '87 Carrera w/o the 930 fenders).

the only 7 & 8 x16 fitments in '87 were for widebody(turbo look) and they used a 28mm(pn# 930.331.611.04) spacer in the back, the front 7s used either a 21mm(pn#930.341.611.00) spacer or the '81 up 930 front hubs(depending on the yr)

All the 8s that are used on the back of any SC/Carrera oem are 8x15(or 16) ET10.6.

to get an 8 ET23.3 to fit like an 8 ET10.6 you need to use a 12.7mm spacer

Porsche has offered 7 & 8 x15 at various times from '73 -89 as an option on certain SC/Carrera body cars. The 7s would be ET23.3 and the 8s ET10.6.

I don't know it all, I did spend a couple of hours online and with some books last night and figured out a few things. I still have some questions.

I figured out that the 951 part number 8x16 are not original to my car. Now What I'm saying they seem to fit and look good. I've had the back wheels off and I don't currently have spacers. Wouldn't factory 7x16 which also has 23.3 back space leave even more fender gap? Why do I need spacers with the even wider 8x16, 951 wheels with 23.3 back space? Is there an advantage? If so is there a small spacer that can be used with stock wheel studs?

I'll attach a picture of my car, so you can get some idea

Thanks, David

There is a range of widths and o/s that fit in the wheel wells, as they say beauty is in the eye of the beholder but I like the wheel to fit in the wheel well w/o hitting anything under any suspension excursion and be as far out board as is possible within the above constraints.

ET or o/s moves a wheel inboard or outboard.

increasing the wheel width while maintaining the same ET increases both inboard and outboard extension by 1/2 the width increase on each side.

changing both width and ET at the same time interactively changes how the wheel sits in the alloted space.

8 ET 23.3 sits inboard 12.7mm further than was intended, this adversely affects the handling characteristics of the car. If neither the appearance or handling behavior hasn't bothered you then by all means leave it alone, but to extract the best possible performance 8ET 10.6 is better, 9 ET15 is better yet and 9.5 ET10 even better. Some even use spacers w/ the 10.6 & 9s

There are thousands of posts where pictures of the 8ET10.6 and 9ET15 wheels are clearly shown. Take a look to see how they compare to yours.

take a look here to see some diagrams of how different wheels fit

Thanks for the further info, I found that chart really complicated for me at least.

Here is a chart that I really liked that got me thinking my 951, are not so bad on the back, If you scroll down a little you will see the chart.
