Well its been 4 weeks and 2 days my Porsche is still in Auto Shipper Limbo on its' trip from San Francisco to New York. They now say it's in NJ and will be here Tues or Wed.
This is on a 2 week promise of delivery. By the way they have my credit card payment since May 9th. Barrier |

Really sorry to hear about that.
Out of curiousity - I don't suppose you get any kind of partial refund because they took twice as long to deliver as promised. No, I would suspect not. How did they explain the long delay? ------------------ '71 911E with Webers Golden Gate Region PCA http://www.geocities.com/edrecinto/ [This message has been edited by sander (edited 06-08-2001).] |

I also had a bad experience with a certain nameless shipper, whose initials are DAS, when shipping from San Francisco to Mass. The car arrived quickly, but with a smashed rear left quarter & light assembly. I'm still pissed, and they say their liability is only $250. I can't even buy one lens for that.

I have used a car transportation agent who uses the more expensive hauling companys but gets discount which makes it cheaper than if you contact the company direct.
For example, this year it cost me about $800 + $100 agents fee total $900. Talking to the guy who loaded the ragtop, he said normally it costs about $12-1300 to do the same trip (Florida-New Jersey enclosed transport) The contacts name is 'Sherin' I forgetthe name of her company but the # is 561 988 1588 fax 561 988 1688. Hope this helps anyone needing a reliable cheap form of shipping! Rgds Ben [This message has been edited by 86ragtop (edited 06-08-2001).] |

Sounds like standard procedure for the trucking companies that I've dealt with...

I used Intercity Lines last year when I bought my car. They advertise in Excellence and that's where I found them. They only use enclosed trailers and the service was great. It cost me $900 to ship my car from S. Cal. to Seattle and it was here in 5 days. In my opinion, Intercity is the way to go.
