Killer Tip - motor mounts

Score one for Charles K who posted a tip on motor mounts. I did these tonight and it was an absolute breeze.

Here is the tip:

1) Super glue the lock washers to the nuts.
2) Put duct tape sticky side out on your middle fingertip.
3) Place the nut/washer on the tape.
4) Tighten the bolt with the nut in place on your finger.

Let me tell you there is genius in this!!!

I have used masking tape to hold the nut & washer together in the past. This is 100% better than that.

In my clumsiness, I did invent a tool that has considerable merit. My daughter seems to have run off with the magnetic picker upper with the long flexible handle. I dropped a nut/washer and needed an easy way to pick it up. I found a rare earth super magnet and taped it to a small dowel. PERFECT. Even though the magnet is less than 1/2 inch in diameter, it had the power to pick up on of the large washers that goes under the motor mount.

Just thought I would share.

You must be one of THOSE guys who has an OLD car whose motor mounts actually need NUTS :) :)

Neodymium magnets are awesome. 1/2 inch is huge for a Neo magnet.

Never realized it was a problem...
