CIS Question
 

Hi!
I noticed that the hoses that screw to the injector are loose. If I touch the hose it moves a bit up and down. Is that normal? The engine runs well. No problem. Thanks.

I know that this is an older post, but based on my recent experience, I thought I should bring it back to life.

As I was doing my tensioner upgrade recently I noticed quite a bit of vertical mobility in a couple of my injectors. I remembered this post and that this was "normal".

I decided to investigate and pulled them all out. The O-rings on all of them were rock hard and shattered when lightly pryed with a screwdriver.

I got new factory O-rings and replaced them all. The injectors are now rock solid, no movement at all up and down or side to side.

On the CIS injectors there are 2 O-rings, one on the plastic sleve on the outside of the injector and one that goes between the metal injector itself and this plastic sleve that slides over it.

Since these are stuck right in the head and are subject to lots of heat, I figured that some of you out there probably have petrified o-rings too. An easy fix and pretty inexpensive too. Smoothed out my idle. Im sure that it helps the vacuum pressure to seal everything up too.
