Slept until noon, today. Woke up, checked the board. What else is there?

Believe it or not I am at the work site about 70 hours a week and on call all the rest. That's right, 24/7. I check the board at lunch, when I get a break, etc. It really helps me cope with the stress of my job.

I have a "theoretical" job which means I just sit in my office all day and cruise the web.
I read about quantum mechanics and Porsches. I've really been getting into Everett's many worlds theory of particle/wave duality of certain quantum objects. In summary, rather than accept the collapse of quantum object's probability density wave to a particular state, it assumes each possibility is realized in a different sub system--which means every time an irreversible process occurs, the system containing that process splits into two linearly separated subsystems. So, we're constantly splitting into a multitude of mutually exclusive universes.
It's really cool man.

Anyway, then someone comes in and says "that .dll isn't working can you check on it?" I say "yeah, it'll be ready to go by tomorrow."
So then i jack around for a while, take lunch, read the board...
someone shoot me please.

Well, procrastination can be a wonderful thing.

If I want to avoid agonizing over words and sentences, I just come over here and get all psyched about 911's, and then if I feel compelled to reply to a topic, well, I compose a reply with the same unfettered cognition that has me wondering why I need to avoid agonizing over words and sentences in the first place!

Oh, by the way, I work from home! How I wish I could see my baby from my window!

Kurt, you are the "cat" in Schroedinger's box. I'm afraid to look.

I once had a chemistry prof that had a bumper sticker that said "Honk if you've met Schroedinger."

I'm pretty busy most of the day, but check the board when I get a break or two. One of my staff usually has to flick me in the back of the head to get me back to reality, and back to work.

Thanks to all of you for helping me maintain sanity!

Nick.

I'm a "kept man". My wife works all day so I can play with my cars and motorcycles. Isn't that the way it's supposed to be

I am a lazy engineering student - I check pelican wherever I am I only have about 8 hours of lectures a week this term so when I am on campus I always pop in to the computer labs and have a look.

The rest of the time I am at home working on my final year project or playing Need for Speed: Porsche Unleashed/reading about P-cars - and I check PP then too!

Hey have you noticed how few posts I have put on this board in febuary? I started at my new job the first of febuary and since then I have had only little time to be on the internet. I think I need to discuss this with my new boss. The job contract should state at least half an hour available each day for being on the internet with my Porsche friends.

How did I know that Obin was a net nazi? Sigh...even drives a German car...

Kurt B is like me. I have to actually creatively develop from time to time (well, every day) but I find that switching brain gears from coding to Porsches keeps me fresh.

Municipal government inspector/engineer with plenty of office duty during the winter months. No inspections to do when it's cold/snowy and the contractors can't build roads or place concrete.

I'm with Rarly, Nick and a few others. I work long hours at a high stress job. A half hour a day on the board keeps me sane and keeps me productive. Now I couldn'r live without it.

I am a software implementation consultant for warehouse management systems. Sounds good in theory, but warehousing is not glamerous when you are on the road.

Hopefully in the next 6 months-year I will get into the ERP consulting arena... Anyone need a p-car friendly consultant to work with, you can take me out of the job search before I begin it

Anyway my project is slowing down and the half-hour on the board helps me keep my sanity.
