just replacing my AC temp switch where does this tube..
 
in the process of replacing my AC temp switch and i found this brass tube in the evap housing . is this brass tube part of the old switch or should I put my new swich wire through it ?

It fits in our condenser coils and the capillary tube from the temp sensor in it.

Just a small correction ... it goes in the evaporator.

You should have a white wire that inserts into the brass tube through a hole in the top of the evap box. coat the wire with grease before you insert it.
