Does anyone know how to seal the fresh air blower housing so it doesn't leak water into my trunk and down into the smuggler's box?
When water is poured in here, water comes out the drain under the car and also, ![]() comes out here.. ![]() ![]()

Is there a sealing ring that goes in between the "clam shell" cover over the motor?

Jerry,
I know there is a rubber gasket on the intake lip for the fresh air blower housing that mates into the metal frame. The housing then compresses gasket into the oriface when you tighten each of the screws (one on each side of the fresh air intake). They are the screws behind the mesh. Hopefully this is what you were asking about. -Matt

There is a baffle inside the housing that diverts water around the fan to the bottom of the housing where there is a drain (item #2). Perhaps your drain is partially clogged. I believe the drain hose passes thru the smugglers box to the bottom of the car (see pic). You might be able to clear it from there or from under the car. I think you have to remove the belly pan to do it from under the car.

I fixed all the leaks..
Here is what i did on each problem. On the fresh air intake grill, I put a "new" black electric tape gasket all around and on the ends. Then I found that the two end screw holes in on the car body leaked water into the trunk. I placed a small donut rubber washer on each end screw. ![]() I found out that there is a flimsy gasket between the clamshell motor cover and the motor unit. I loosened up the bolts and pried the two halves apart a little and filled the gap with black silicone. I tightened the bolt back down and added another screw to pull the two halves together a little tighter. Now no leaks. ![]() Both upper corners of the hood leaked water into the trunk and the one on the passenger side allowed water to leak into the floor of the passenger side near the floorboard. I put black silicone in the crack/hole between the rubber trim and the car body. Now no leaks. ![]() Both lower corners leaked water into the rear deck area and rear seats. I dried out the window trim and carefully filled with black Silicone. I saved having to have the rear window reset...for now. ![]()
