Rebuild Supplier

I have some questions about engine rebuild supplies that some of you may be able to lend some advice on.

I'm looking for somewhere to get complete enigne rebuild kits from and I want somewhere that has good prices and product (no cheap knock off crap). Good technical support and engine knolwedge would be nice too.

I also need to know of a good machine or engine shop that will be able to do all the subleted work (magnaflux, valve guides etc.).

I the "performance handbook" (or 911 bible) Anderson (911 God) explains that you should find someone you trust and since I have don't know anyone then I am asking for the people that YOU trust. Thanks,

Of course, our host Pelican Parts. Another is
EBS Racing in Reno. The EBS guys are straight and helpful. I am about order most my stuff for my 2.4S rebuild from EBS next week. The cheapest prices are probably Vertex in Miami but their 3% surcharge on credit charges and return policy have put me off. The important thing is to buy all at
one place so you do not get tripped up
waiting on critical parts.

On machine work, particularly case work, Competition Engineering probably one the
best. They have my mag case now. HTH

Yeah, I looked at Pelican, I would really (and I mean this) like to support them but they are a little pricey on some items. I do buy whatever I can from them because I have nothing but love for them and this board. Just can't do it all because of prices. I'll call them up and see what they can do for me on a complete rebuild kit. EBS is also something that i'm interested in, does anyone have an 800 # or web site?

EBS racing - http://www.ebsracing.com

For machine work call up your local Porsche dealer / service dept. Most send thier machine work out and can reccomend places. Sending your parts across the border is not going to be very economical not to mention Nortel layoffs will bring the CND $ down even farther today. I use Pfaff Motors here in New Market Ontario for wrench work ( Rebuilding my 915 as we speak), but they farm out the machine work, not sure where. If you call there service dept ask for steve saltsman he can give you some suggestions.

Also try this link to the upper canada region PCA http://ucr.entrevision.com/PCAUCR/Site.nsf/Public/Home

Good Luck.

Hey Jeff, can you actually get ahold of Saltsman? I can NEVER seem to reach him because he's always away from his desk. I usually call Downtown Fine Cars. They have one guy there, English fella, and he is great. Answers any question you ask him, reminds me of Warren actually. Don't worry Warren, I don't think hes quite as good as you! :P
