Don't know exactly, but in the new Panorama, there's an article about a guy who put a '73T in a 356. The article commented the flat 6 was about 100 lb. heavier than the 4 banger.

Steve,

Is the 2.0 an early aluminum crankcase, or a later magnesium one? The early ones are at least 22 lbs heavier!

Warren,

Sorry, I don't know yet. It is somewhere up in Canada as a speculitive(sp) purchase.I thought maybe because the displacment was close to the original engine, not counting the extra cams ,cylinders and so forth, that it wouldn't play overkill on my 912 suspension. For what its worth, the engine #
is 6190745.Thanks for your input.

Steve,

OK, that is a magnesium-cased '69 'T' engine and my spec book says it weighs 176 kg or 388 lbs, so that would be just about 100 lbs heavier than the 912 engine, that is almost identical in weight to a VW Type 1 engine at around 280 lbs.
