"Motor is a fully built and trick 3.0liter motor with special $12K+ injection system."

That better be a gold plated super flow high butterfly injection for $12K!!!

I think they meant to say the whole motor is worth $12K.

He's going to have to do a better job of selling that car, if he wants to get 30K for a '72 911. I doubt that he'll get a single bid.

That one's been up on eBay before. Bill is right. You need to explain why an engine-swapped 72 is worth that kind of money, since you're essentially asking a potential buyer to accept all the choices you've made along the way for a price comparable to what they'd pay to make those choices themselves.

Nice looking car, though.

Kind of hard to tell from the photo but my 72's got an oil filler flap in the right rear quarter. Only year they did that. Guess if you want it to pass for an RS you got to get out the body filler.

Actualy I was curious about that injection also. The reply was that it is a slide valve set up, wich can be pretty pricy with out the gold plate.

Jack's right about the choices, and since it has no 'originality to preserve, a big engine like the guy is bragging about seems to justify the RSR look with flares and bigger wheels. His 'choices' don't seem right, assuming the seller is the one who finished it off that way. For that kind of price I wouldn't accept skinny wheels, and I doubt many other potential buyers would either!

I agree with all of you, but...I watched a replica ducktail go for in excess of $500 on Ebay early in the week. They can be had brand new for well over $100 leass than that including shipping...
This one will be interesting.

Hatari, the replica ducktail was a metal lid (I can't remember if it was aluminum or steel) with a bonded fiberglass tail. That's not the norm for aftermarket ducktails. The $3-400 variety are usually all fiberglass. More-authentic versions, like that one, sell freshly-made for $6-700 or so.

Well, Jack ... there's your project car, and I suspect you will have several months to watch it before the guy gives up on his 'firm' price of $30K!

I think it is rather 'lame' of an eBay seller/buyer of more than 177 items to say he doesn't know how to change or cancel the auction! The funny thing is that he 'says' that it is a reserve auction, but there is no indication other than his text in the description. As the ad stands now, a lone bidder of $25K would win thew auction, and if he refused to sell at that price, he would be in violation of eBay's user agreement!

And, of all of the humorous eBay ads we laugh at and discuss here, I believe this is the first one that didn't have enough pictures!
