Engine shipping costs to Canada???
I need to ship a 911 engine to Canada. Does anyone have experience here on what I can expect in terms of costs and what might be the best carrier to use? I've generally use Forward Aire. TIA

Forward Air, Yellow Freight etc. I think I paid $350.00 for the last engine I had shipped up to me. That was palleted and dropped off at the shipper by the seller I also did all the customs clearing on this end myself

Hi Robert, I am the guy who Felmir wants to send the engine to..........!
You mentionned $ 350 , can you let me know from where to where the engine was brought from ? that would give me an idea of how much it will cost me. Right now I have a quote from Conway freight , from Menlo park CA . to Montreal at $945 Cad.....! ouch Thanks. Francois email: francois.duval1@videotron.ca |

I used Yellow Freight for a complete engine and 915 tranny shipped from Seattle to South Carolina, 965 pounds palleted up and it was a little over $1000 to ship.

You can save big dollars no matter who you use if you can do your own customs brokering. Their has been talk of Greyhound being very reasonable but am not sure about weight restrictions

Phoenix to Calgary, 3 years ago. Yellow Freight. Engine only but with all ancillaries, Total weight was just under 400 lbs I think? Strapped to a Pallet with a case of 1/2" plywood built over top. Not as robust as the one shown in the above mentioned engine and trany project but it protected everything fine. I'm sure it is more now as fuel prices are up since then. And as I mentioned your shipper needs to be able to drop the pallet off at Yellows depot, and you need to be able to pick it up, if you need door to door service it is a LOT more money, as in double or better.

Houston to London Ontario, same experience as Robert above. Went with a commercial trucking firm.
