Idle question. Need your help to understand...

Dear all,

My restored 911 2.2T from 1971 has passed it's MOT and i'm able to drive it now. But I have noticed that I have a strange thing happening at idle which I try to understand.

The carbs (zeniths) have been rebuild & tuned and the car runs fine at idle (approx. 900 RPM). But when I drive and approach a stoplight, dis-engage the clutch and brake, the car's RPM's drop to 800 RPM and without additional gas it dies. I seriously need to use the handthrottle to keep it going. When I arrive home and let it sit on the drive, it idles perfectly.

Why does this happen? Do I need a higher idle speed as standard? Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks for your help!

Hessel

I sometimes have the save issue. I just tap on the peddle and the RPM adjust itself.
