Ignition Timing for 67S
Dumb Question: Can someone tell me what pulley mark should be lining up with the pulley housing at idle and 6k rpm? I have marks for Z1, 30 and 35 degrees.
Thanks, David

![]() I would use the 30 mark-- the 911S distributor actually uses less total advance than the Solex. Can you actually get 30 at 6000? And still keep a decent idle? I found that before my cast iron distributors were restored the springs and advance pivots were so worn that I ended up with about 45 degrees of advance (fortunately no-load) at 6000. If I dialed the advance down I ended up with so much retard that the engine wouldn't idle. Ed Fall at Vintage Werks fixed all that. Not too much advance! Good luck!
