1970 911e with clutch fork issue
Hi Guys, the other day driving into my driveway, the clutch made a kind of clunk sound, the pedal flopped right to the floor all lose and free like and the car stalled, I checked everything back to the release fork and found it was all loose, (the fork) I removed the cable and the fork would almost fall out, it's not apearantly connected to the release bearing, it's not even really on the pivot ball, any ideas? I've only had the car for a month, the clutch seemed great up to now. The previous ownrer said the clutch disc is new and the pressure plate rebuilt. What do you think? Thanks for looking, Rick.

Rick,
Check out this thread when I had a similar problem. #4 in the diagram ended up being the culprit and when replaced with a new one I have had zero problems. You will have to RR the engine / trans to replace. See if you can get the clutch for to mate up with the TO again but it may just be a short fix like it was for me. If you were in the Santa Barbara area I would gladly come help you out. 911 clutch fork (Grady, Tyson, others?)

Very common problem on the 70-71. you may need to replace the clutch folk because it gets galled and will eventually cause the new ball pin to snap too.
