Wiper Reversal on a 993TT

Anybody know if it's possible to reverse (move to the passenger side) the wipers on a 993? I know it's relatively easy on our cars. My brother in law is madly in love with his Twin Turbo. I've caught him sitting in the garage just staring at it. His one (obviously) minor complaint is that the wipers are parked in front of him. I know, poor baby, but he's a good guy and not very handy with a wrench.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Scott:cool:

If you drive in the rain, it's better to have the wipers parked on the driver's side...the water pushed down by the wiper runs right back up into your view.

The DIY sections at http://p-car.com/diy/wiper/ or www.pcarworkshop.com have the procedure to reverse the wipers. It's a knuckle-damaging endeavor.

On the other hand, you can remove the intermittent wiper relay and manually "park" the wipers on the passenger side. You lose the intermittent function but you get to keep your fingers:

Jason,

That a GREAT write up. Thanks it's exactly what I was looking for. Richde, I also appreciate your weighing in but everybody knows......it never rains in California.

Thanks Guys,

Scott

He shouldn't be driving it in the rain anyway! ;)

I did it on mine, and although I only drive in the rain if I happen to get caught in a storm, I have not noticed any problems with rain blinding me because the wipers were reversed. I'm sure if I drove in the rain all the time I might notice it.

+1. Parking the wiper on the driver's side also discourages the snow from sliding off the hood & cowl and up onto the windshield when you're driving the car.

I reversed the wipers on my SC and I wondered why I bothered after I was done. IMO, didn't make a difference to visibility whatsoever.

It's not a huge annoyance, just something I noticed living in a very wet climate...it made me realize why they did park the wipers on the driver's side. It does allow rain-x to work better though.

Mine are still reversed.
