just phenomenal !

Wow. That is incredible. The chassis is too cool to put body work over. Reminds me of my all time favorite:

John

I was thinking of that Ferrari model when i saw the 917-10.

I guess the only thing that would make it better would be an actual working model like the Ferrari.

What always amazes me about these models is that they are nearly always made by an amateur/ hobbyist, normally in the garden shed!

I love these cars but there's got to be a better way to spend your life.

And the same guy is building a 903-3

Absolutely stunning!

What particularly stuns me is that the guy says he painted it factory-prime white because it's his "first attempt with an airbrush," which is sort of like somebody who'd just rebuilt a 911 engine saying it was his "first attempt with sockets and a ratchet." Amazing that he has all those other skills and still considers himself a novice at painting; I'm sure he'll pick it up in maybe five minutes.

I'm a serious modeler--mainly 1:32 resin and mixed-media aircraft, though I just finished Jean Behra's center-seat 550 and am working on a Martini LeMans 917--but not a scratch-builder. Doing reasonably complex kit-built modeling gives me endless admiration for those guys, and considerable amusement about the people who actually buy finished models to put on shelves and consider themselves "modelers."

WOW! Amazing!

I sure spent a lot of hours assembling a 1:12 934 Tamiya box model...but this is really over the top!

1,300 hours!

Even an offer of $50.00/hour puts this at $65K.

*****in' project.
