Clean my black Fuch's?
Strange thread title.
Guys I did a search, clean wheels, wheel cleaning, fuch's cleaning............nothing helpful came up. I know no this has been covered My front wheels look a little oxidized (chualky). Someone suggested an easy way to get them black again. They are standard issue Fuchs. Any suggestions gratefully accepted. Thanks, Scott ![]()

Or clean the wheels with a gentle wheel cleaner and then wax them.

Gogar is correct. Get some vaseline and rub it onto the entire wheel (black and anodized) like you were putting wax on. Go around an do all four wheels. Then come back and buff the excess off. Wheels will look like new. I use paper towels to apply and take off, but you could also use an old towel. I would have to go back and look, but I believe this is in the owners manual.

I have used vaseline many times on my wheels since I found out about it in 1988. It works great.
I think I read about it back then in a Pano or one of the P mags.

Because the black part is paint you could try a rubbing compound/ cleaner wax on them and follow up with wax. Don't use steel wool or 3M pads as these are a bit too abrasive and will leave swirls/scratch marks.
Worst case scenario: mask the anodized lips and repaint them. I've also used a "Jiffy" marker to touch up scratches on the black anodized lug nuts. ![]()

Wow,
Great pics thanks dentist. I was a bit incredulous with the vaseline suggestions but I've read all the posts and I'm really attracted to the price point! Thanks guys for all the input. Regards, Scott

I thought it was an option at the Dealership.

When people were buying these things new in the 80s, the dealer didn't bother with the vaseline....
