Have an Auto X coming up, but may have a brake issue --please advise

Hey all, I'm excited about the World Arena AutoCross (That sounds like something straight outta Hot Wheels)

But noticed my brake light on the dash was staying on after the E-brake was released.

So first thing I did was check fluid. A tad low, topped it off still on. Then went online to research- then realized Hey maybe tail light bulb was out.

Yeah- that was it- both rear brake light bulbs had blown. The right rear had blown all the way, both filaments, the left rear had blown only the brake light filament, running light still was ok. Replaced both this morn, started her up, released the e-brake and... Damn, still on??? what's up guys?

According to the factory manual "When a brake circuit fails or after repairs on the brake system, a brake warning light installed on the dashboard comes on. After brake repairs, the brake warning light can be turned off by disconnecting the battery ground strap." I'm not sure if the low fluid got to a point where the system would indicate a circuit failure or not but it may be as simple as that. You may also look at the pressure switches on the master cylinder. A fault in either of the switches would trigger the light to come on.

In prepping the car for the AutoX did you bleed the brakes? If they were blead dry then that may be why the system indicated a fault. Just my $0.02.
