Was colour to sample available in 1979?

I'm awaiting a paint code for an yellow SC that is not Talbot yellow. It is a yellow that looks like Yellow Birds yellow....any thoughts?

yes , color to sample was available, as well as lots of other options

I'm interested in knowing any unusual paint code (in full as stamped on the badge) particularly when the VIN is also available. This helps my paint code research in the 1964 to 1983 period.
